Leading company has an open position for an Material planner who will b responsible for doing costings etc.
You will report to the Commercial Manager. Commercial Manager, you will work closely with various departments including Sales Admin and Production to ensure that BOM lists are constantly maintained and evolve in line with any required modifications or changes
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurate material standards calculations
Ensure relevant surcharges are applied
Correct allocation of routings ,calculation of accurate set-up and run times
Post Job Costing evaluation and corrective actions (adjust material usage variances and machine routing changes)
Develop and maintain BOM related knowledge/capability in line with Systems & Processes
Deliver and maintain up to date and coherent product specifications for each item.
Provide support for other key areas where necessary.
Support other members of the team within the BOM / Costing function
REQUIREMENTS
Educated to Grade 12 or equivalent (including Mathematics & English)
A relevant post graduate qualification in costing is an added advantage.
A good knowledge of BAANIV or other ERP systems
The capacity to master new areas of knowledge and skills rapidly
The ability to explain complex data in a clear and meaningful way
Good IT skills, to include practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc), and using the internet
Ability to organize workload, and the capacity to progress a range of tasks and projects at one time
The ability to communicate well with administrative staff, external organizations and with other staff at all levels
The ideal candidate will have a relevant experience will have worked in a similar BOM function, ideally within the packaging industry.
