Minimum requirements:
• BSc(Eng) or BTech(Eng).
• At least 5 years relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret Tunnel/Cavern/Surface geology.
• Experience in construction supervision.
• Geotechnical/Structural interface knowledge.
Key performance areas:
• Liase with Design Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer on assigning rock support.
• Manage and ensure delivery of tunneling and other multidisciplinary projects.
• Coordination of engineering disciplines such as structural, environmental, mechanical and electrical.
• Support junior members of design teams.
• Undertake geological mapping of underground exposures and collate geological information.
• Assess encountered geology & rock mass classification.
• Supervise and direct installation and montitoring of rock support and in-situ geotechnical testing .
• Undertake inspections of tunnel and surface excavations.
• Collate, interpret and present results of geological data.
• Logging of drillhole core & preparation of comprehensive drillhole logs.
South African Citizens or Candidates with valid SA Work Permits can apply.
Depending on South African permanent residency status, the position can either be permanent or contract.
