  • Job Description

    The purpose of the role is to ensure the compliance of products and claims to end market regulations and requirements across AMC businesses.
    General accountabilities
    (What are the general responsibilities of the role, against which performance is measured?)
    Supervising the regulatory compliance of the recipes (concentrates and finished beverages), the labels and advertisements related to the composition of the finished products
    Advising R&D, marketing and commercial teams on product composition regulations during the process of new product development across AMC
    Advising on package compliance from regulatory perspective and approve all new packaging for AMC businesses
    Liaising with regulatory bodies, agencies and external stakeholders with regards to regulatory compliance issues across AMC
    Proactively managing issues and crises in relation to regulatory incidents across AMC
    Supporting corporate and public relations in relation to all technical and regulatory issues
    Conducting product regulatory compliance audit and ensuring that all processes and procedures are in place to ascertain regulatory compliance
    Developing and maintaining regulatory compliance database across AMC
    Researching, reporting on and influencing regulatory trends across AMCAMC ExComAMC R&D teamTechnical Managers
    AMC commercial, marketing, finance, HR and Operations teams
    Key regulatory stakeholders across AMC
    Central Product Development teams
    Advanced Research and Claims teams and Service Providers
    Packaging and Technical Managers
    SBFE R&D community Regulations and compliance

    Inherent Requirements

    Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Nutrition
    Extensive (at least 10 years) experience in regulatory affairs or compliance management in FMCG environment
    Experience in understanding and interpreting regulations relating to food beverages
    Experience in leading remote teams and understanding regulations across multiple countries in Africa
