  • Pharmacy Operation Manager (Ekurhuleni)
    Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supporting the team of Pharmacy staff providing technical assistance and/or service delivery in the allocated province, so as to ensure effective delivery on all relevant projects.
    Coordination and Monitoring
    Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Pharmacy TA team
    Monitor and track the delivery of such activities, and monitor the quality of the service provided by the Pharmacy TA team
    Coordinate the procurement and delivery of any supplies which are to be donated to public pharmacy services.
    Coordinate the activities of any external service providers contracted to strengthen pharmacy systems e.g. providers of dispensing courses
    Monitor and support the deployment of such supplies or external service providers to ensure effective use for greater impact
    Coordinate and ensure compliance with the prescribed documentation and record keeping of activities undertaken in relation to the pharmacy technical assistance programme
    Coordinate and ensure compliance with all project reporting requirements
    Technical Assistance Support:
    Support public sector pharmacy leads to coordinate pharmacy services effectively and implement key monitoring mechanisms such as functional Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committees (PTC’s)
    Assist with provision of TA in other selected public pharmacy settings e.g. hospitals, by
    oWorking with relevant stakeholders to assess gaps in pharmacy resources, practices and systems in individual public sector facilities;
    oDeveloping an improvement plan
    oProviding training, mentoring or other TA to support the facility in implementing the improvement plan
    Support the Senior Pharmacy Advisor in capacitating and supporting the Pharmacy TA team to provide such assistance effectively
    Stakeholder relations
    Maintain good working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders collaborating on allocated project work in order to effectively achieve organizational, departmental and project goals, by:
    Initiating and/or participating in all Stakeholder and departmental meetings necessary for ensuring effective work coordination and communication
    Initiating and/or responding timeously to all necessary oral and written communications with Stakeholders
    Ensuring that the team conducts and submits timeously all programme monitoring and reporting activities required by relevant Stakeholders
    Addressing concerns or disputes regarding any participating role players with the relevant heads as soon as they arise
    Organisational and Team Duties
    Lead, motivate and develop the team so that they are passionate and committed to continual improvement of service delivery.
    Effectively manage staff through appropriate and systematic delegation, coordination, team building, conflict management and performance management
    Ascertain that employment policies are adhered to in all employment practices
    Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
    Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
    Adhere to decision-making authority level as allocated to the position
    Adhere to all company management SOP’s, guidelines and agreements
    Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation and report all unsafe activities to Senior Management
    Mental dexterity
    Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
    Write routine reports and correspondence.
    Speak effectively before groups.
    Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists
    Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    Add, subtract, multiply and divide in common units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
    Compute rate, ratio, percent; draw and interpret graphic data

    Minimum Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
    Valid driver’s license
    Own car
    Post-graduate qualification in general management or Training
    Work Experience:
    Minimum 7 years’ work experience in the pharmacy environment, including 2 years in the public sector
    Experience in training or pharmacy management an advantage
    Good personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, data handling and analysis, word processing, spread sheet, graphics.
    Efficient in Microsoft Office
    Writing project plans, standard procedures, reports, papers etc
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Mature and confident personal nature
    Ability to work independently and in a team
    Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    Physical abilities
    Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature
    Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers
    Vision requirements: ability to read, write and handle a car
