  • Description

    "Strategic Planning:
    - Develop the procurement business plan and set realistic targets to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives.
    - Incorporate the policies, guidelines and procedures defined by Tender Committee Review to companies procurement strategy.
    - Develop a buy-in Mission, Vision and Core Values, which contains all dimensions of a best in class buying program, and is shared by top management of all key functions. Involves analysing
    new trends in the buying environment; identifying the need for new Mission, Vision & Core Values; communicating Mission, Vision and Core Values to key stakeholders.
    - Develop the long term Capability Plan that enables the realization of the buying Vision. Involves an understanding of the long term business objectives and requirements.
    - Develop and continually update the Operating Model that enables the realization of the buying Vision.
    - Identify areas where value can be added / exploited further, areas where value is being destroyed and areas where value is latent, and act accordingly.
    - Consider future consequences of actions on the viability of the business. Discuss the current environment and how this will impact the business both now and in the future.
    - Ensure BEE virtual strategy consolidation and facilitate the process.
    - Develop a segment sourcing strategy that simultaneously supports and balances governance and customer centricity .
    - Develop a common strategy to maximize synergies potential and maximize value for the company."
    "Budget Management and reporting:
    - Monitor budget expenditure and periodically report procurement financials
    - Benchmark buying results and capabilities against best practice and international standards of performance, to identify challenges and relative positioning
    - Analyze performance against targets in order to improve performance in overall Managerial processes, Strategic Sourcing processes, Tactical processes and Operational processes
    - Record and report savings achieved
    - Develop and manage Contract Compliance strategy: on a monthly basis, develop Contract Compliance Report that tracks through Key Performance Indicators supplier performance and
    internal customers contract compliance

    - Develop and propose to Executive Committee an annual Category Buying Plan that contains:
    – Buying performance targets (volume, price, timing)
    – Capability development needs
    – Strategic sourcing project to be set up per major categories
    - On a monthly basis, ensure the development of Category Performance Report
    - On a quarterly basis, ensure the development of Supply Chain Performance Report which includes:
    – Analyse results against targets
    – Initiate Process/ Organisation/ System Optimization
    – Agree benchmark framework
    – Identify improvements since last benchmark
    – Develop Benchmark report
    – Present findings to the Tender Committee Review "
    "Direct and oversee the following Procurement activies led by the Procurement Manager:
    - Procurement Operations
    - Procurement Sourcing
    - Purchasing and Relationship Management
    - BEE Awareness and Compliance
    - Product/Commodity Management"
    "Direct and oversee the following Procurement training activies led by the Training Manager:
    - Systems training
    - Negotiation
    - Contract law
    - Evaluation methodologies
    - Procurement methodologies

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as procurement and purchasing.
    Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in leading retail and service operations for the Professional Services industries is a pre-requisite.
    At least 5 years of senior leadership in similar positions, in fast-moving industries.
    Knowledge of cost reduction methodologies and the whole Procurement function (including procurement systems, processes and procedures).
    Quality assurance and BEE Training.
    Procurement Laws and Regulations.
    Advance MS Office.
    Excellent English and local language skills; both written and verbal.
    Skills and Personality Synopsis:

    Business Acumen – a deep understanding of the business as a whole.
    First rate intellect and robust analytical skills to conduct procurement business strategy analysis and spend and demand analysis.
