  • A company in Johannesburg is looking for an Account Manager – Industrial Quality Solutions



    Job:

    • To secure and expand profitable business within the Industrial Quality Solutions (IQS) and Metrology market segments

    • The sale of IQS products in general and those selected for special promotion in particular.

    • The maintenance of Company goodwill and reputation

    REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    • Grade 12

    • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or equivalent

    • BTech degree / diploma with P1 & P2 completed.

    Knowledge:

    Industrial Design, Manufacturing and Assembly, Quality Assurance & Control:

    CNC programming, Tool Making

    Experience:

    • 3+ years in a successful business to business sales environment, preferably in the Manufacturing Industry

    • 2-3 years work experience in the engineering field preferably in quality control and inspection within the Manufacturing/production environment

    Products:

    High value capital equipment: Optical Light Microscopes, Digital Microscopes, Computer Based Imaging Systems, Optotech O-Inspect and XRM portfolio

    Travel:

    Extensively in South Africa, Africa and overseas

    Driver’s Licence: Compulsory

    Key or Core Activities of Job

    • Actively selling Company and Factored products and those items selected for special promotion from the IQS Microscopy and Metrology portfolio to Industrial customers

    • Maintaining all technical applications knowledge, selling techniques, competitive comparisons, and product information on these subjects as appropriate to staff and customer.

    • Soliciting new customers and developing maximum sales to existing customers.

    • Maintaining constant awareness and active pursuit of sales opportunities, reporting position and prospects and as necessary requesting assistance and advice to gain business.

    • Maintaining customer goodwill and Company prestige.

    • Travel extensive in South Africa and International in Africa and abroad.

    • Maintaining records within the company’s CRM (SalesForce) system, noting on them all the information necessary to provide a full picture of each account, prospect and project.

    • Assisting in the initiation, planning preparation, erection and staffing of Company exhibitions.

    • Organizing activities to ensure that maximum effective time spent in “face to face” selling situations with customers. At least 10 new prospective customers per week.

    • Reporting daily activities and sending in expense claims on time.

    • Reporting all aspects of field trends, competitors’ activities, Company performance, technical data and any information which could possibly assist the Company to plan for the future. This reporting will be required on weekly and Monthly basis

    • Attending courses, lectures and Company meetings as instructed to improve knowledge of products, sales techniques, technical information, Company policies and other subjects as required by the Company.

    • Spending a reasonable time each month with the relevant IQS Head of Sales and Service discussing all aspects, particularly any problems and difficulties experienced in carrying out the responsibilities of the job.

    • Liaising with Service Department personnel on matters where co-operation is needed for good customer relations and/or Company reputation.

    • Liaising with the Sales Office to ensure that written and telephoned enquiries to the Sales Office from customers form part of planned selling activities as defined in 1-11 and 14 above.

    • Delivering, demonstrating, and installing goods as necessary and giving instruction and training to customers to ensure proper use of the equipment.

    • If required, to collect/ deliver parts/ goods for repair from customers and return them on completion

    Salary: depending on experience
