  • Our client in the Hotel Industry urgently seeks a seasoned and experienced candidate for the above position. 4/5 star exposure a must and must be in a similar position for 3years.
    We have a vacancy in our Pastry Kitchen for the position of Sous Chef OR Executive Sous Chef: whichever candidate is sourced first.
    Basic salary: 16k – 20k

    Sous Chef:
    Job Summary:
    Overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Sous Chef

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Matriculation certificate (or the equivalent)
    • Either Culinary Arts, Catering management or Food Service Management diploma
    • Specialization in Pastry
    • Min of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef: Pastry within a 4 or 5 * property
    • HACCP certification
    • Must be able to produce a portfolio of work within pastry

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Produce pastries for all Food and Beverage outlets within the hotel as well as Banqueting.
    • Manage a staff compliment of 10
    • Training of all junior staff and trainees
    • Stock Control
    • Assist the Exec Sous Chef with any additional responsibilities

    Job Summary:
    Execution of the smooth and efficient running of the Pastry Kitchen

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Matriculation certificate (or the equivalent)
    • Either Culinary Arts, Catering management or Food Service Management diploma
    • Specialization in Pastry
    • Pastry experience within a 4 or 5 * property preferably locally and abroad
    • HACCP certification
    • Must be able to produce a portfolio of work within pastry

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Produce pastries for all Food and Beverage outlets within the hotel as well as Banqueting.
    • To maintain and improve the Pastry offering in line with an international offering
    • Manage the staffing element within the Pastry Kitchen
    • Ensure efficiency and cost control measures are implemented and maintained
    • Main stock levels and delivery of products as per the demands of the operation

    Personal Attributes:
    • Self-motivated and driven to produce high caliber products
    • Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent results
    • Passionate about pastry
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
