  • Job Function To acquire new business and grow the company’s existing trading base, revenue and profitability. To develop and maintain a sales strategy, ensuring that financial targets are achieved and a high level of customer relationship management is provided to both new and existing customers. Key Responsibilities: Includes, but are not limited, to the following: Sales – new client acquisition Relationship management Portfolio administration Assist clients with queries Achieve and exceed sales’ financial targets Develop and maintain a presence for Company in the chosen market place Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business in key industries Provide a high level of customer relationship management Monitor risks of portfolio and approach all new business in line with Company’ credit policy Ensure that administrative processes are followed Operate as a team-player, ensuring the achievement of the department’s goals Promote and uphold Company’ brand and values Nature of Tasks: Sales Achieve contracted growth of new customer acquisitions Interview existing and prospective clients to identify new opportunities within the customer’s organisation to expand service offering Identifying solutions for existing and prospective customers using the group’s products/services Actively manage customer relationships through engagement and analysis of information Attend to all enquiries stemming from customer relationships Attend marketing functions & meetings where required Credit management Manage credit risk of existing customers and new applications Ensure all control measures relative to the approved facility are adhered to Attend to annual review of all accounts on portfolio Admin Assess and take action on information provided by prospective and existing clients Compile required weekly reports and presentation on reviews where applicable Scrutinise credit info required to assess applications Ensure correctness of and compliance to all documentation relevant to existing and new clients General Establish and maintain networks in chosen industries Assist with the preparation of annual budgets Deliver internal and external presentations to staff, customers and other relevant parties as and when required Assist team members where required Qualifications A tertiary, industry related qualification (BCom or industry related courses) would be advantageous Skills and Experience Required 8 Years’ prior experience within a sales position in the industry is preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ forwarding & clearing experience is required with a good knowledge of logistics/supply chain processes Possess positive energy to create/work within a winning sales team Must take ownership of the position and be dedicated to the job Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members Ability to represent our company and ensure that the branch and sales always work as a team with different tasks, yet striving for the very same goals Contribute constructively to sales meetings so all divisional heads work as a team and keep all informed Willingness to acquire new skills, gain knowledge and share best practices Excellent communication and presentation skills Work well under pressure and adhere to deadlines Accuracy and attention to detail is a must Strong networker with good analytical skills Team player but self-sufficient - ability to work independently and be a team player simultaneously Computer literate in MS Office, with a good proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Matric/Grade 12 Certificate as a minimum requirement Valid driver’s license As this is a position of trust, honesty and integrity are of the utmost importance
