  • Job Function To use your strong understanding of business and the industries in which our target customers operate, to provide unrivalled service to our customers. To use your strong understanding of company vetting processes to assess and manage existing customers in your portfolio, ensuring various income generating opportunities are explored for Company and the Group as a whole. Key Responsibilities: Includes, but are not limited, to the following: Customer relationship management Manage customer relationships and expectations effectively and pro-actively across all levels of the customer’s business units, in line with: Commercial contract agreed Total COMPANY service offering SLA and KPI’s Ensure that organisational relationship matrix is developed, maintained and rolled out between COMPANY and customer stakeholders at all levels Be a driving force within COMPANY by building trust and cooperation at all levels within the customer’s organisation Business development Identify new opportunities within the customer’s organisation to expand service offering Data analysis Continuous analysis of the customer’s business to understand emerging trends within their business and industry Ensuring communication to COMPANY management, informing them of any potential changes within the customer’s business, industry and potential risk to COMPANY Commercial and projects Contractual renewals Update and maintain annual escalations Arrange for internal work sessions prior to negotiations Obtain internal approval Arrange and manage the negotiation process in terms of timelines up to final agreement with senior management in both organisations Projects – Continuous improvement Fully understand the customer’s business and identify areas where we can add value to the customer’s supply chain through service offering expansion and continuous improvement initiatives Facilitate the formulation of operational strategies to achieve service levels and key performance indicators with stakeholders Identify principles of best practice and implementation of case studies if and where applicable Market research Benchmark services and processes against global best practice Conduct risk assessments to identify threats to the current business processes and services Identify new innovative processes and procedures that will provide a competitive advantage Financial Management Demonstrate an understanding of financial practices and appropriately apply good business acumen in formalising solutions for customers Assist with preparation of annual budgets Credit Management Manage credit risk of existing customers and new applications Ensure all control measures relative to the approved facility are adhered to Attend to annual review of all accounts on portfolio Administrative Duties Assess and take action on information provided by existing clients Compile required weekly reports and presentation on reviews where applicable Scrutinise credit info required to assess applications Ensure correctness of and compliance to all documentation relevant to existing and new clients Assist with and resolve client queries Qualifications A tertiary, industry related qualification (BCom or industry related courses) would be advantageous Skills and Experience Required Prior experience within Sales/Sales Management in the industry is preferred A minimum of 5 years Forwarding & Clearing experience is required with a good knowledge of Logistics/Supply Chain processes Must take ownership of the position and be dedicated to the job Ensure regular interaction within the sales team so everyone feels adequately informed and can give valuable feedback Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members Contribute constructively to the Sales meetings to ensure proper a proper team spirit Willingness to acquire new skills, gain knowledge and share best practices Excellent communication and presentation skills Work well under pressure and adhere to deadlines Accuracy and attention to detail is a must Strong networker with excellent analytical skills Ability to work independently and be a team player simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Well versed in email etiquette with the ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and electronically Valid driver’s license Matric as a minimum requirement
