  • Business Description: Company Personal Finance provides clients in the entry, middle, affluent, self-employed and Agriculture markets in South Africa with a comprehensive range of financial service solutions to facilitate their long term wealth creation, protection and niche financing needs. Role Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of unit that comprises of a team of support staff (PA’s , Sales Consultant, Vesting and Development Specialists) and financial advisers (newcomers, vested advisers and Blue Star Principles) The ideal person must be structured with good planning skills, ability to motivate a high performing team, strong operational skills, passionate about the development of staff and comfortable to communicate with different stakeholders. Output/Core Tasks: This role is accountable for a regional unit/office comprising of a sales driven team. This is a ‘generalist’ management role that includes functions such as: Overall responsibility and accountability for manpower and will therefore carry a recruitment target. This will be driven in conjunction with the Recruitment Officer. Provide effective People and Performance Management Marketing and Business building support to Advisers Manage and oversee office infrastructure, budgets and expense management of unit Ensure unit and practices are compliant and optimally staffed Provide practice management, quality management, productivity management support Role Requirements: Qualifications: Matric Commercial/Financial or business related diploma/degree CFP® designation or relevant Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning will be advantageous Experience: At least 5 years management experience within the financial industry. Extensive experience in marketing/sales environment with experience as a financial adviser Operational Management/leadership of a team/unit Knowledge: Financial Services Industry Knowledge; Financial Services Product Knowledge (Company and competitors) Legal technical Knowledge, Financial/Assurance products-(broad and background) Sales and related administration processes (Leads) Leadership and Management skills to manage staff Budgets and expense management Relevant regulatory legislation and compliance knowledge (FAIS accredited) SFA distribution model and value proposition Competencies: Planning and Organising Directing Analytical Thinking Strategic Decision Making Results Driven Influencing Building Partnerships Business Acumen Coaching Treating Customers Fairly Personal Attributes: Energetic and positive Determined and goal orientated Sales orientation Structured and good planning abilities Ability to motivate and build a team Coaching and development abilities Strong administrative and operational skills and knowledge Socially confident and skilled to communicate well with staff and clients alike Ability to solve problems and work with complexity Candidates will be in a development/coaching programme/role. Will be based in Durban for first year, but must be willing to relocate thereafter to other provinces to take on a Unit of their own. Very hands-on position.
