  • We are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join our dynamic team. The purpose of the role is to operate across different accounting cycles including payroll, debtors, creditors and bank.
    Responsibilities will include but, not limited to:
    • Preparation, timely and accurate processing of the bi-monthly and monthly payroll on Sage
    Pastel Payroll in accordance with labour regulations and standard accounting principles.
    • Ensure that checks and balances are in place and constant revision of automated payroll
    reports used for processing.
    • Maintain updated procedure manual for payroll processing and assists in training of other
    staff on the payroll system.
    • Responsible for the coordination between all departments and human resources, to ensure
    proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
    • Generating reports for payments e.g.PAYE returns and other third parties. EMP501
    reconciliations and IRP5 distribution.
    • Keep abreast with company policies and tax legislation's that has an impact on remuneration.
    • Maintain and reconcile debtors' which includes invoicing, receipts and reconciliations.
    • Maintain and reconcile creditors' which includes invoices, payments and reconciliations.
    • Management and capturing of bank accounts.
    • Prepare and process month-end journals to the accounting system.
    • Preparation and distribution of detailed reports.
    • Ensure compliance with the group’s external and internal policies and procedures.
    The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
    • Qualification in the Finance / Accounting Field;
    • 2 - 3 Years' experience in a similar role;
    • Good knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures;
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
    • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines systematically.
    • Good knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures;
    • Travel Industry Experience will be advantageous; and
    • A lucrative salary of between R17000.00 and R22000.00 (dependent on experience).
