  • Boutique Hotel Manager:

    Previous experience in similar position at upmarket hotel is necessary.

    Qualifications: At least certificate or diploma in hospitality or hotel school from a recognized tertiary institution.  

    Familiar with duties and procedures in front office, reservations and hotel operations departments.

    Duties include:

    To be well acquainted with the reservations for accommodation, as communicated by the reservations team, and to liaise effectively with them.
    Check guests into their accommodation and provide them with room-orientation according to the prescribed standards.
    Oversee the accommodation with the assistance of the housekeeping staff. Manage the housekeeping team and delegate tasks and duties to them.
    Ensure that the rooms have been serviced and maintained according to the prescribed standards of the business.
    To be readily available during prescribed working hours to deal with guest concierge assistance, queries, problems or complaints in relation to the accommodation.
    To ensure that check-in procedures are adhered to. Ensure that guests are greeted, checked-in and allocated to their rooms promptly and courteously.
    To ensure that telephonic and email correspondence is dealt with promptly.
    Ensure that the check-outs are done promptly and efficiently.
    Maintain accommodation supply stock levels and reconcile expenses. Manage petty cash and accounts.
    Resolve maintenance related issues and oversee the pool and garden services in conjunction with management.
    Ensure that check in area, office and store room is maintained and neat at all times.
    Actively network with other establishments in the Franschhoek Valley to build relationships and encourage referral bookings.
    To be first point of contact for emergencies on the farm and liaise with the security companies when necessary.
    From time to time you will be reasonably requested to assist colleagues with their duties.

    This position requires,reliability, responsibility and diligence.
    Attention to detail, willingness to lead and direct staff. 
    Excellent communication skills and a friendly and helpful approach to guests are also needed.
