  • Description

    Multi Award Winning Nursery-Stodels is looking for a dynamic Branch Manager to head up a team of 5 Department Managers at our Bellville Garden Centre. The position will report directly to the Operations Manager.
    Main duties:
    • Responsible for Branch profitability
    • Management of entire garden centre, department Managers and general staff effectively to KPA’s
    • Effective stock management and optimize branch layout opportunities
    • Responsible for ensuring excellent branch merchandise quality standards and general housekeeping standards
    • Drive high levels of customer service standards at all times
    • Report analysis and interpretation
    • Effectively implement and execute company strategies at branch level
    • HR, IR and staff development
    The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
    • Management Diploma preferable
    • Minimum of 5 years retail experience at branch management level or level equivalent in exposure and or responsibility
    • A successful record in sales, profit management, stock management including purchase management, staff management
    • Must be organised, efficient, creative and assertive with strong communication skills on all levels
    • Sound retail business acumen understanding the drivers of profitability
    • Excellent leadership ability and experienced in managing several department managers effectively
    • Good conflict resolution skills
    • A thorough and practical grasp of the day to day running of a retail branch, the issues that a Branch Manager faces, and their solutions
    • Ability to quickly access business opportunities and be able to motivate Managers to achieve the assigned tasks
    • Have strong floor operations experience and able to handle and co-ordinate multiple operational tasks
    • Have strong analytical skills and basic visual merchandising skills
    • Have a strong passion for customer interactions and setting high level of customer service standards
    • Must have high detail orientation on business priorities
    • Must be self motivated and assertive
    • Always lead by example
    • Fully computer literate
    • Own Transport essential
