  • Description

    The purpose of this role is to manage the activities of the Engineering Diesel Workshop in a safe and responsible manner to ensure optimal production results and legal compliance.
    Minimum Qualification

    N4 or Equivalent Engineering Qualification.

    Valid Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical).

    MS Office proficiency.

    Driver’s license (Code EB / 08).

    Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) will be advantageous.
    Minimum Experience

    5 Years’ experience as an Engineering Foreman working with diesel equipment.

    Experience in Cost Control, Labour and Employee Relations.

    Proven track record in the production and safety environment.

    The successful candidate must be in possession of a valid certificate of fitness or be fit enough to obtain one prior to commencement in this role as this is a requirement of the Mine Health & Safety Act.
    The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

    Planning, leading, organising and controlling maintenance and repairs of all equipment along with the overhauling of equipment.

    Complying and co-ordinating Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.

    Effectively utilising human and material resources.

    Ensuring that the mine’s procedures are enforced and adhered to.

    Meeting legal, safety and production targets.

    Leading and motivating a productive team
