    The following list of main objectives / key performance areas and job activities are not exhaustive. The executive director may instruct the employee at any time to carry out additional duties or responsibilities, which fall reasonably within the ambit of the job, or in accordance with operational requirements

    To effectively prepare a tender document through considering all its functions including detailed analysis, pricing the bill of quantities, populating and analyzing the risks of the tender prior to submission.

    1. Bill of Quantity
    • Comprehensively analyze tender document to create sub-contractor work packages that would allow efficient pricing of document.
    • Ensure an understanding of tender requirements and possible risks associated with the tender by creating a SWOT analyses.
    • Effectively engage with all subcontractors and ensure that enough pricing options is presented. Thereafter each sub-contractor work package is to be analyzed by highlighting financial risks. This will allow for accurate rate adjudication.
    • Do rate adjudication between subcontractor packages.
    • Document Functionality
    • Strategically gather all returnable documents required for the tender ensuring that functionality is met.
    • Apply a professional approach in preparing the documentation by showing a high regard for attention to detail which would ensure that each tender document will present the organization in a highly professional and favorable manner.
    2. Administration
    • Accurately save and file all copies of tender submission documents.
    • Follow up on sub-contractor RFQ’s in a timeous manner.
    • Diligently manage external communication via email, telephone and effective time management.
    • Manage all post tender engagement in a professional and efficient manner, including sending off the necessary for SHE File, sub-contractor engagement and other relevant tasks.

    • Tender status report updates to Senior Estimator
    • Prior Tender submission
    • Final tender documentation & CCS file presentation to Senior Estimator
    • Post tender award
    • Sub-contractor negotiations for Senior Estimator
    • Connect with all internal stakeholders
    • Engage and manage subcontractors and suppliers on database

    Minimum Education and Training Qualifications:
    • National Diploma in Building
    • BA Quantity Surveying
    Minimum Experience - Tender clerk
    • 5 years of Quantity Surveying
    • 2 years as junior estimator
    • 1 year on site experience
