Factory Manager – Pretoria Gauteng

Salary: Market Related

Purpose of Position:

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Factory Manager based in Rosslyn, Pretoria, Gauteng. The Factory Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement and optimization of all processes in the manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed as well as analyse and develop processes that will maximize efficiencies in quality and productivity. Duties include reviewing production and records to determine capacity planning and coordinating with executive management to enforce changes to plant budgets and safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric; Degree in Production, Operations Management; Engineering; Technical Trade / GCC Advantageous

• Relevant experience as a Factory Manager in a large manufacturing concern

• Minimum 10 years in a Manufacturing environment

• Minimum 10 years experience in a management role

• Computer Literacy: Microsoft Office Suite; Excel; ERP systems (Syspro or SAP)

• Conflict Management

• Staff Management -Train, Coach, Mentor

• Project Management

• Proposals and Estimating; Forecasting and Budgets

• Own transport able to work under pressure

• Excellent communication skills; Punctual – Lead by example

Key Performance Areas

• Oversee operations to ensure safety

• Develop plans that help operations run smoothly

• Manage production

• Create and manage budgets

• Recruit, train and onboard new employees

• Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste

• Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes

• Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement

• Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage

• Perform routine safety checks on equipment

Duties:

• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet demand and expectations

• Managing project and resource requirements

• Preparation and control of shop budgets.

• Adherence to the Integrated Management Systems

• Motivate, develop and coach factory supervisory team

• Ensure adherence to company and customer policies and procedures

• Supervise factory workers and ensure that factory operations run smoothly.

• Oversee production and ensure that material output is maintained to optimise cost savings and efficiencies

• Analyse the business unit’s current profitability as well as the necessary planning of business strategies (operational, financial and others) of the plant

• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping (supply chain)

• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus

• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions

• Share a trusting relationship with workforce teams and recruit, manage and develop plant staff

• Collect and analyse data to find areas of inefficiencies of waste or overtime

• Commit to plant safety procedures; identify and resolve any production issues, bottlenecks, duplication etc

• Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

• Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.

• Engage and stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts

• Preparing reports and submitting them to the department and management heads

• Attending meetings and to ensure that the necessary preparation is done to deliver meaningful contributions to ensure maximum outcomes

• To manage the budget of the branch efficiently and to plan, organize and create structure for the workplace if necessary

• Maintain quality control of equipment’s to ensure parts and services fulfil customer needs

• To manage the staff to ensure that all strategies, plans and operational procedures are adhered to and implemented to obtain maximum return
