  • My client, an engine component distributor in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town is seeking a YOUNG and energetic Sales Representative
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Manage customer sales and ensure that optimal customer potential is achieved.
    2. Plan, forecast, report on sales potentials by customer to management.
    3. Report all competitor pricing and activities to management.
    4. Report all customer information regarding delivery, telesales and account problems to management.
    5. Achieve revenue targets and ensuring that new business is generated by growing customer base and increasing market share in the geographical area of responsibility.
    6. Build and strengthen customer relationships.
    7. Assist all other departments (Sales, Accounts, Despatch, Warehousing, Receiving and Technical) to ensure good co-operation within the company thus minimizing customer queries.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Matric or higher education.
    2. Minimum of 5 years experience as sales representative.
    3. Extensive experience in a sales environment dealing with customer needs.
    4. Basic knowledge of the operations of an Internal Combustion Engine.
    5. Thorough knowledge of the geographical area of responsibility.
    6. Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
    7. Technical background would be an added advantage.
    8. Be a good team player.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    1. Some business acumen, understanding the costs and breakeven scenario’s of customer service delivery.
    2. Should be able to carry out his/her responsibilities with little supervision.
    3. Be a good planner and time manager.
    4. Computer literate.
    5. Above average negotiator.
    6. Professionalism.
    7. Understand the 80/20 principle and plan customer visits accordingly.
    8. Plan calling schedules based on geographical areas.
    9. Willingness to travel in his area of responsibility.
    10. Understanding and ability to communicate effectively and conduct business in an appropriate professional business manner. Ability to effectively and cooperatively work with management.
    This person must have representative on the road experience.
    Salary up to depending on experience R 22000.00 P/M, commission plus company car medical aid and pension.
