  • Responsibilities:
    The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role include, but are not limited to:
    - Performs general accounting support tasks in the accounting department.
    - Maintains accounting records by capturing supplier invoices, expense forms and other expenses onto the ERP system, matching to relative purchase orders, goods received notes and budget.
    - Proper filing of documentation that has been captured.
    - Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
    - Preparing payments for outstanding suppliers and expense forms.
    - Daily capturing of petty cash receipts, monthly reconciliation of petty cash.
    - Monthly recon of all credit card statements to receipts, following up on any outstanding receipts.
    - Ensure that all deposit slips/credit card receipts are provided by the various kiosks on a daily basis.
    - Monthly reconciliation of kiosk receipts to sales as per Sage X3.
    - Maintain lease schedule indicating duration of lease, escalation dates and date of expiry.
    - Ensure all active rental agreements are filed.
    - Turnover certificates to be submitted to Landlords by 7th of the following month
    - Collect and record all rental invoices, agree to lease agreement and present monthly for payment.
    - All rental invoices which have been agreed to the supporting lease agreement are collected, recorded and presented monthly for payment
    - Ensure pending expirations, new leases and escalations are sent to the Financial Controller at least 2 weeks before the event.
    - Provide Finance Controller schedule of leases on a bi weekly basis.
    Skills and Competencies:
    The abilities that the individual needs in order to perform this role effectively:
    - Proven accounting experience
    - Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
    - Experience with general ledger funcions and the month-end/year end close process
    - Professional and confident communicator capable of dealing with staff at all levels
    - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    - Good problem-solving skills
    - Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
    - Ability to multitask and prioritize
    - Work accurately, meticulous and high attention to detail
    - Analytical and strong reconciliation skills
    - Enjoy working in a team, but also have the ability to work independently
    Education and Experience Requirements:
    Matric or NQF equivalent
    Diploma/certificate in accounting
    3 – 5 years’ experience in an accounting or similar role
    Proficient in Microsoft Office
    Advanced Excel skills
    Must have FMCG background
    Advanced knowledge of SAGE X3, or at the minimum advanced knowledge of a similar ERP system
