  • Role Purpose
    The purpose of the Financial Manager role is assist the Senior Financial Manager with Group Reporting, tax and financial administrative functions. The role also requires meaningful analysis and feedback on actual, forecast and budgeted figures to the Senior Financial Manager in both written and verbal form. The role requires an individual who self-motivated, deadline driven with technically sound knowledge of the IFRS Reporting Standards. The person must have excellent communication skills, be adaptable to changes in a growing organisation and comfortable with a manual reporting environment.
    Role Outputs
    The role entails:
     Preparation of monthly group as well as 2 individual entities’ HFM reporting packs (both actual and forecasts)
     Review of subsidiary monthly HFM packs (both actual and forecast)
     Ensuring all journals are posted and reconciliations reviewed
     Management of the group’s creditors and payments processes:
    o Developing and maintaining internal procedures and policies
    o Ensuring staff pay creditors timeously
    o Ensuring appropriate audit records are correctly updated by staff
    o Review of balance sheet reconciliations
    o Review of creditor’s processes and balances in subsidiaries.
     Management of the group’s debtors and receipts processes:
    o Developing and maintaining internal procedures and policies
    o Ensuring staff obtain debtors receipts timeously
    o Ensuring appropriate audit records are correctly updated by staff
    o Review of balance sheet reconciliations
    o Review of debtor’s processes and balances in subsidiaries.
     Providing monthly comprehensive analysis and feedback on individual company as well as the group’s financial performance to the Senior Financial Manager
     Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial management reports
     Assist with the compilation of group Annual Financial Statements;
     Review of all subsidiary Annual Financial Statements;
     Coordination of the group audits and compiling of audit files;
     Assist with managing and preparation of annual group budgets
     Ensure that financial records are in line with Full IFRS;
     Management of employees;
     Preparation and ensuring timely and accurate submission of group tax returns and payments (Income tax and VAT) and
     Ad-hoc duties as and when required

    Requirements
    Qualifications:
    - Matric
    - Qualified CA (SA)
    Knowledge and Experience
     Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial reporting role outside of articles (mandatory)
     Financial services experience
     Technically strong with IFRS Standards
     Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
     Experience in using HFM an advantage
    Skills and Attributes Required
     Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
     Able to work with in a team and work independently
     Should be willing to manage people
     Smart worker
     Excellent communication skills
     Detail orientated with excellent analytical skills
     Adaptable to an ever changing environment
     A problem solver
