  • JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
    Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager.
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    Overall management and co-ordination of the organisation�€�s safety culture towards "Zero - Accident�€� tolerance, with a particular focus on "safety behaviour�€� at all levels and Regions
    Identification to maintain, develop and continually improve the company�€�s existing integrated management for Health & Safety and Environmental aspects of the business
    Advisor in the rollout and implementation of short to long term HSE Objectives and Targets
    Facilitation and co-ordination of internal and external training programs relating to HSE matters
    Responsible for vendor EHS appraisal & rating and act as Company Representative to third (3rd) parties
    Continuous improvement of the Emergency Response Plan
    Advisor to Line Management on HSE issues i.e. risk assessments, job hazard analysis, PPE requirements, incident investigations, environmental impact assessments and legal compliance
    Conduct HSE Committee meetings through chairing them and compile reports to be addressed at Management Review Meetings
    Co-ordinate internal and external HSE audit programs
    Monthly/six-monthly and annual reporting of HSE performance to Management
    Develop, implement and control a HSE Logistic Execution Plan for all projects as undertaken
    Maintain and administer project timelines and execution of deliverables to clients
    Financial control and co-ordination of costing for billings
    Assist and co-ordinate with all tender documentation
    System development and implementation (NOSA, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management, ISO 18001 currently to change to ISO 45001 for Occupational Health & Safety ) both electronically and hard copy
    Conducting SHE Risk Assessments
    Conducting of incident investigations on higher profile incidents
    Approval and purchase of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requisitions for the company before purchase
    Overall management of medical fitness of all employees
     
    ROLE SPECIFIC SKILLS ATTRIBUTES
    Minimum 4-7 years�€� work experience
    National Diploma Safety Management
     
    Recommended Courses/Certification:
    OHSACT
    ISO 14001
    Auditors
    Root Cause Analyses Technique (RCAT)
    Incident Investigation
    OHSAS 18001
    Assessors
    Legal Liability
    HIRA
    Train the Trainer
    Construction Safety Act
    MS Office, SAP applications (advantageous)
