    SUMMARY
    Performs duties of Maintenance Electrician engaged in maintenance and repair of electrical element of Consignment System equipment by performing the following duties.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Working on LV systems up to and including 480VAC.
    • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs/re-programs electric and electronic controls
    • Inspects wiring and fixtures for signs of damage.
    • Inspects work of subordinates and peers for completeness
    • Ability to install inspects, repair and maintain the electrical systems within his remit.
    • Studies maintenance schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet maintenance schedules.
    • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance, and quality of operations.
    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shift, department, or work crew.
    • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Maintains time and production records.
    • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
    • Confers with his supervisors and peers to coordinate activities of individual departments and shifts.
    • Sets up machines and equipment.
    • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors, contractors and staff from various other departments he may come into contact with.
    • Ability to perform various maintenance and clean-up tasks as needed.
    • Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
    • Performs activities of workers supervised.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Directly supervises his subordinates (semi-skilled helpers) in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include reviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree (BSc.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    English fluency is essential as the work team will be multinational. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 10kg, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg or 50kg with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; working at height; and outside weather conditions.
