    Job Purpose
    Work in support and in alignment with Group’s Market Conduct Compliance Monitoring objectives as set out by that office and defined by the Group’s Compliance Framework;
    The focus will be on assessing the existing controls in relation to regulations that form part of the Market Conduct and Compliance umbrella in order to ensure that the group is adequately equipped to comply with the requirements of the evolving South African Twin Peaks financial regulatory framework.
    The successful candidate will be a specialist in monitoring Market Conduct related legislation FAIS, CPA, Banks Act, NCA, COFI Bill and draft Conduct Standards for Banking Institutions matters within the Group.
    The successful candidate will be an analytical self-starter, with experience in business, ethics and compliance, or audit, and capable of demonstrating insight and providing guidance to senior management on conduct risk and related matters.
    Job Responsibilities
    Key Performance Areas
    Oversee and Conduct monitoring engagement meetings with the business.
    Prepare adequacy and effectiveness working papers prior the start of the fieldwork.
    Draft reports after the monitoring exercise and validate findings in the report for accuracy.
    Summarise major findings, issues and outstanding remediation items, identify risks and controls.
    Identify business compliance risk and monitor mitigation risk management strategy.
    Present the draft reports to Quality Circle Committee Meetings.
    Assist in the development of yearly monitoring Plan.
    Develop a trend analysis report on all key aspects relating to the monitoring reports.
    Assess all aspects of Market Conduct including other conduct related legislation.
    Ensure alignment of business strategy and objectives to customers' needs.
    Build effective relationships and work collaboratively across clusters/functions.
    Finalise allocated work and identified issues promptly in a timely manner.
    Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices.
    Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions.
    Manage personal development to increase own skills and competencies.
    Ability to resolve disagreement and conflict situations in a constructive and professional manner.
    Make quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks.
    Make rational judgements from the available information and analysis.
    The ability to apply analytical and conceptual thinking.

    Additional Responsibilities
    Formal & Ad Hoc Reporting
    Review business activities to understand operational environment before conducting reviews.
    Compile appropriate engagement letters.
    Perform monitoring reviews in line with Compliance Methodology, Guidelines and Standards.
    Draft and produce finalised working papers and evidence for all components of work, as per standards set in the Compliance Methodology.
    Ensure that working papers are appropriate and include supporting evidence/documents.
    Agree detailed findings with management and provide appropriate recommendations for management actions.
    Follow up on recommended corrective actions, any outstanding monitoring issues and management actions.
    Preparation of follow-up progress reports.
    Reporting will comprise of but not limited to: Evaluate and report on the efficacy and relevancy of market conduct risk initiatives set by the compliance and ethics framework, within the organisation; and Evaluate the efficacy of market conduct programmes/practices/initiatives.

    Personal Development:
    Execute Personal Development Plan according to Balanced Scorecard Development Plan.
    Minimum Experience Level
    Three (3) years experience in risk-based auditing/monitoring of risk and control activities in financial services industry.

    Qualification
    Bcom, LLB, Postgraduate Diploma in compliance (Advantage)
