    JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

    The Payroll and HRIS Officer is responsible to process payroll and to ensure accurate salary payments. He/she is responsible for ensuring that the Human Resources Information Systems are meeting the needs of the business, making changes and managing system updates as required. This position works closely with the Group Exec Head HR, the HR Consultant and internal teams to make sure that company objectives are achieved

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Payroll Management

    Collate all payroll inputs for monthly salaries
    Review and calculate monthly salaries
    Inputs capturing on VIP Payroll system
    Changes in employee records, new hires, terminations, shift/overtime allowance etc.
    Implementation of annual salary increases
    All other payroll related earnings/deductions
    Staff queries- relating to salaries etc.
    Payroll Admin and Reporting:

    Preparing of Weekly and monthly salary reports
    Distribution of salary/wage reports to finance
    Confirmation of pension/ life cover (Momentum Portal) & Funeral benefit (Fussell) & PIBFT
    Distribution of Payroll payment reports to Treasury
    Wage Accruals(Finance)
    Submission of all statutory reporting to the relevant bodies (i.e. Treasury, Dept of Labour etc).
    Submission of EMP501 to SARS (Feb and August)
    Issuing of IRP5’S
    HRIS

    Capturing of leave on VIP
    ESS administration and support
    Produce monthly leave reports for the Group
    Maintain Group org structures on VISIO
    Produce monthly Group headcount reports
    Manage and maintain Employee Benefits on the Momentum portal
    Enters employee data into various information systems and recalls data as needed.
    Keeps detailed organized and up to date payroll records
    Generalist HR:

    Recruitment and Selection

    Response handling of applications received
    Initial screening of CV’s against qualification and experience requirements, discuss
    Schedule interviews with preferred candidates identified by LM
    Create interview pack containing, CV, Interview schedule/ metrics and the selection score card
    Conduct interviews for junior positions
    Coordinate background checks for candidates with the external provider
    Performance Management

    Record keeping of completed performance management contracts and assessment documents
    Maintain an updated PM sheet as per the performance management cycle
    Maintain an accurate filling system for all the PM documents
    General HR Admin Support

    Compilation of WSP/ATR data for annual submission
    Compilation of Employment Equity data for annual submissions
    Employee benefits administration (Medical Aid, Pension Fund and Employee Life Cover)
    SKILLS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

    Excellent communications skills
    Excellent skills MS Word, Excel
    Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
    Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
    Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
    Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
    Possesses a strong work ethic for working with confidential information
    Possesses an analytical mind for determining when software changes should be made and how systems can be made more efficient
    Demonstrates vast knowledge of HRIS software and systems
    Understanding of company benefits such as, pension fund/medical aid, leave and other voluntary deductions
    Understanding of tax documents and preparation processes
    Detail orientated.
    Knowledge of HRIS
    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

    Matric, relevant Degree/Diploma
    Payroll qualification or Accounting Degree/Diploma
    3+ years in a Payroll environment performing end to end payroll function;
    3+ experience in VIP payroll system
    ESS Experience
    Working knowledge of general HR will be an advantage
    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: R20,000.00 to R22,000.00 /month
