  • Our client is searching for an IT Executive who will lead and manage the IT department and its service providers. Be responsible for the development and implementation of a long-term Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) strategy mitigate risks and stabilize IT systems and infrastructure .
    Key Performance Areas:
    Strategic alignment of business requirements through IT Systems:
    • Develop and execute IT strategy that supports business strategy
    • Evaluate and analyse the companies IT infrastructure and systems requirements in order to make recommendations for short and long term needs
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting of company and regional infrastructure
    • Oversee the administration and maintenance of infrastructure
    • Re-engineer the business processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
    • Define, develop and maintain an architectural solution in terms of business support systems, user support, information, application, technology and data architectures
    Risk Management and IT Governance:
    • Ensure that IT governance and information security risk management is of the highest standard and is aligned to best practice in the sector/industry
    • Evaluate and analyse computer software, hardware, networks and systems
    • Guide infrastructure on network security
    • Develop and execute IT policies and procedures
    • Ensure that the information assets of company are effectively managed in terms of timeliness, integrity, quality and security, and adherence to data privacy stipulations in both structured and unstructured domains
    • Accountable for information technology governance, regulatory compliance, audit compliance, risk management and security
    Create organisational capacity for effective execution of the IT Strategy:
    • Keep up to date with the external organisational environment and Best Operating Practices
    • Identify future capacity requirements
    • Streamline and integrate existing operational practices, processes and systems across the organisation
    • Make recommendations on new systems/technology
    • Monitor and oversee strategic projects related to new systems
    • Design or develop new organisational entities, processes and systems to ensure organisational capacity for the future
    • Oversee troubleshooting, system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provide expert support when necessary
    • Project Manager for all IT related systems and help implement internal systems
    • Drive initiatives to ensure that the required capabilities and competence are available in line with current and future human capital capacity requirements (initiatives related to talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, talent management, succession planning etc.)
    • Ensure that Divisional employees are managed in line with company’s human resource plans, policies and procedures (i.e. leave, remuneration, disciplinary procedures etc.)
    • Actively contribute toward aligning employees with the organisation culture and values
    Drive the profitability of the IT Division:
    • Conduct detailed budgeting for efficient and effective technology by translating strategic objectives into goals with specific output and targets
    • Ensure appropriate levels of authority within the Division re financial approvals / expenditure
    • Determine CAPEX requirements / expenditure and approving these
    • Responsible for all IT or business systems monthly costs, management and monitoring
    • Effectively utilise existing assets to increase operational efficiencies
    Management of suppliers/vendors:
    • Review supplier and vendor agreements and deliverables and introduce new suppliers/vendors where required
    • Build and maintain supplier/vendor relationships and manage the purchase of hardware and software products
    • Manage the purchases of all software, hardware and other IT supplies for company and the regional levels
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers/vendors to ensure the supply of services
    • Monitor the service level agreements by analysing service delivery reports
    • Develop and manage internal client requirements
    • Communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
    • Follow up with regard to outstanding matters and ensure that we have secure and reliable IT systems
    Requirements:
    • Minimum ten years’ experience in IT of which at least eight years must be in a management capacity
    • Matric plus a tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent Diploma
    • MCSE/MCITP
    • DBA
    • SAP
    • VM Ware Certification
