  • Introduction
    A leading retailer has a position for a Regional HR Manager for the KZN region.
    Duties (will include but not limited too):
    The development and implementation of effective Human Resource plans within stores
    Recruitment, selection and induction of competent, diverse people who meet the brand personification
    Management of industrial relations, including the management of cases through the dispute resolution stages (CCMA)
    Co-ordination and facilitation of training and development initiatives for stores
    Providing expert advice on all human resource issues pertaining to stores
    Accurate submission of monthly payroll information and checking of payroll information monthly
    The development of appropriate action plans for implementation in partnership with their divisional operations team and store managers
    Acting as a change agent to heighten awareness and gain support for the Company's Human Resource Strategy and strategic priorities and driving company culture
    The ability to attract and accurately identify retail talent, and to recruit these individuals to the Company is a core skill for a RHRM, and all candidates for the RHRM position will need to display outstanding human resource judgment, a very well developed ability to recognise the attributes in others that will result in on the job performance, and have the flair to promote the brand of the company
    The successful RHRM will need to understand, support and promote the Company's policies and procedures and the strategic direction of the human resource function of the Company, and have the ability to consistently apply these in practice, as well as acting as a change agent by raising awareness and gaining support for Human Resource policies and Employment Equity throughout their teams and drive the culture of the company
    She/he will also need to be able to work todeadlines, havelots of drive, and to effectively deal with numerous and complex issues and priorities, so sound judgment and time management skills are also very important
    Complete integrity is an absolute requirement and all applicants will need to support and convey a value system that embraces the Company values, vision, and strategy and employee culture
    Minimum Requirements:
    Two years' experience in a HR management role within a retail environment
    Solid working experience in the field of recruitment as well as Industrial Relations is required
    A practical grasp of the retail industry, and especially the operations and human resource issues in a store
    Working knowledge of all labour legislation, especially the LRA, SD9 and a thorough grasp of the principles
    Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills in English and a second language appropriate to the region
    Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and outlook)
    A valid driver's license (code 8) is essential as this position will require extensive travelling
    A qualification in HR management/Industrial Psychology
