    Reporting to the Head of Retail Marketing & Partnerships.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Define and implement Retail Department and Division level Marketing plans (across all marketing channels) for the Home or Lifestyle Division.
    Conceptualising ongoing "retail based" marketing campaigns to drive sales on site and entice new buyers and keep teams updated on competitor activitiy.
    Build relationships internally with the Retail & Marketplace teams to identify product based marketing opportunities that the marketing team will need to execute on. Develop in-depth knowledge of your Division and Departments in order to craft meaningful product based marketing strategies
    Building relationships internally with the Retail and Marketplace teams so as to identify hot up and coming product releases and other product based marketing opportunities that the marketing team will need to exploit. You will need to develop an in-depth knowledge of each of our departments in order to be able to craft meaningful product based marketing strategies
    Building relationships with suppliers, their marketing teams and advertising agencies to identify strong co-branding and cooperative marketing opportunities. In addition, you will be required to drive commercial opportunities with suppliers through the crafting of proposals, timeous execution of campaigns and post campaign reporting
    Define and implement ongoing marketing plans working closely with promotions team to ensure we are showcasing customer acquisition products.
    Coordinating internal retail and marketing teams to ensure each team is aligned on the marketing and promotional calendars.
    Identifying relevant events across South Africa that align with the takealot brand, and helping to source cost effective opportunities to participate at these events.
    Attract new buyers to our site through partnership opportunities with big brands in the market, particularly banks, and engaging in ongoing strategies to unlock the potential of those partnerships.
    Supporting the Head of Retail Marketing with management of the Coupon tool (campaign set up, monitoring and reporting), commercial partnership activities and events
    Operational and Management reporting weekly and monthly (incl your Retail Division and Department level reporting)
    Coordinate Retail Marketing team and work closely with and support the Division and Department Managers to achieve overall growth KPIs.
    Attributes and Experience required:

    A strong strategic thinker who has worked with C-level executives - an ability to craft marketing plans to build department sales
    A highly driven individual who is motivated to drive meaningful sales revenue for the business through retail marketing initiatives including - onsite sales, product launches, co-marketing opportunities with suppliers, event and sponsorship marketing.
    An inquisitive mind with a passion for data - be highly analytical, using data to inform decisions
    An understanding of e-commerce and the key levers that drive sales in an e-commerce environment
    A strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel is required
    Tech Savvy - have a passion for technology and how to use technological solutions to improve performance
    Creative mindset - be able to craft numerous campaigns across many departments
    Solutions-oriented - have a can-do attitude and high energy
    Highly organised and efficient, with an ability to work towards and meet tight deadlines
    Attention to detail will be very important; strong administrative skills
    A person who is a very strong relationship builder and can unlock opportunities with partners and suppliers.
    Good negotiation skills to drive marketing reven
    eCommerce marketing experience

    A candidate with a proven track record of success in their academic achievements and career.

    A 3+ year degree in business, marketing or communications

    A minimum of 6-8 years retail and marketing experience

    Experience working across marketing channels – Digital, ATL, Partnerships – with demonstrable results

    Retail experience a plus
