  • The Strategic Accounts Director is responsible for delivering against the company category vision & positioning across all the banners of the Strategic Account (Retail) in South Africa including expansion where necessary. This includes managing the Account in the context of the broader marketplace. Partner with the Account by driving the category offense that will align with each account that will lead the active, outdoor, athletic and speciality category. You will collaborate to drive and lead the Strategic Account banners by establishing clear positioning & differentiation. You will also drive the best mix of product for optimal profitability.
    Key Job Accountabilities:
    Develop clear, concise Top Account Plans that align and support the Consumer Direct Strategy as well as Category and Marketplace Vision.
    Create these plans in collaboration with account teams and Sales Director.
    Collaborate with Sales Director, Category Leadership and Brand / Merch leadership to align with Top Account Plans with Category strategies & seasonal priorities
    Partner with Sales Director in developing retail sales based financial targets and KPI scorecards
    Collaborate with Cross Category teams and account teams to develop and deliver consumer right assortments at retail and scorecard the results
    Collaborate with cross functional teams and account teams to develop Marketplace Transform digital assortments and ensure all Cross Category product priorities are represented on digital commerce
    Develop processes to enhance communication and assortment information sharing amongst the account teams
    Manages team and sets team and individual goals that align with department and function goals
    Coaches staff, creates opportunities for staff development, makes hiring decisions, drives performance management, recognition, and rewards
    Develops team structure that facilitates and maximizes individual and team performance.
    Develop, apply, and oversee the activities of a team of account executives who are responsible for managing a strategic account or accounts.
    Leads the teams efforts in the development of account plans.
    Works with the product and category business groups to develop programs and product to achieve revenue targets and strong brand positioning.
    Works with all members of the account team to develop, apply and oversee the account strategy.
    Leads the process for realistic and accurate scenario planning, forecasting, seasonal initiatives, and business analysis. Ensures market and customer capacities are met.
    Acts as the principal contact in the development and servicing of the strategic account.
    Establishes and maintains timely, consistent, and positive external relationships with the strategic accounts Senior Management.
    Requirements:
    Bachelors degree in Business, Communications or related field, 2 additional years work experience in lieu of a degree
    8 to 10 years field sales/athletic/ sports/ outdoor/ activewear product industry experience from Sales, Product, Marketing, and/or Retail Management or related field
    Minimum 8 years sales management experience
    Working knowledge of athletic industry and/or trends in the athletic marketplace
    Understanding of the market, customers, and retail trends is required
    Proven ability to guide/coach customers/employees/managers
    Must be results oriented and be able to lead team against achieving sales goals
    Understanding and ability to navigate and influence the matrix
    Proven leadership and influence skills
    Experience in Sales Strategic Accounts
    Proven ability to build credibility and relationships both internally and externally
