  • • Review and develop all aspects of the SAFLOG Health and Safety Policy and activity, and ensure that it is implemented consistently across SAFLOG management and customers;
    • Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure that SAFLOG’s has systems and procedures in place to meet Legal compliance;
    • Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health and safety within areas of responsibility, which includes conducting regular audits;
    • Ensure rigorous risk assessments and accident management systems are in place to enable SAFLOG’s operational requirements;
    • To undertake risk assessments processes to identify hazards and to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place;
    • Discuss areas for improvement with relevant operational managers and employees and agree on appropriate corrective action;
    • Provide SAFLOG staff and customers with comprehensive and relevant information and training on safety systems, procedures, including advising on equipment purchase and workplace practices;
    • Maintain the accident and near miss database and prepare reports for Health and Safety Committee and Company, ensuring statistical and other analytical tools;
    • Inform Health and Safety Committee of accidents that require notification;
    • Undertake the planning and implementation of fire drills and other evacuation procedures;
    • Attend regular updated training on Health and Safety legislation and the application of key policies with a recognised educational institution and advise SAFLOG management of key developments and areas for change and improvement;
    • Ensure compliance with, and implementation of all SAFLOG policies and procedures that impact the delivery of effective Health and Safety systems, including data protection.
