  • A large reputable construction company is looking for a suitably qualified candidate in Benoni for a site in Steelpoort, Limpopo.
    Manages the implementation and delivery of a small / lower complexity project or section of a large project against safety, time, quality and cost standards and has a definite emphasis on the practical, technical and commercial management of a project. Fulfils the link between the Project Manager and operational team.
    • Must have B Tech or B/B Sc Engineering
    • Project Management qualification would be advantageous
    • At least 5 years relevant experience in respect of managing sections of a construction project as Site Agent
    • Experience in planning and setting up construction projects, preferably at Section Engineer level or higher
    • Must have been appointed as site agent in a construction company.
    • Expert knowledge and skills in construction management.
    • Strong persuasion & negotiation skills.
    • Financial and budgeting control skills.
    • Excellent Leadership, people management and motivational skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills (relationship building).
    • Computer skills (MS Office).
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Must have exceptional risk management skills.
    Operations & Project Management
    Undertake the implementation of company procedures and projects objectives on a specific site in their area of responsibility (or for the project on small projects). Responsible for project execution on a specific site - within budget, scope, timelines, productivity and SHEQ standards.
    Management Operating System & Reporting
    Implement company policy and procedural requirements for recordkeeping, maintenance and monitoring of site records. Attend relevant meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accountability and SLA / specification / performance achievement.
    Technical Management
    Implement relevant quality and technical standards as agreed for the site. Understand and implement relevant internal and client policies relating to technical matters, for the site.
    SHEQ Management
    Identify all SHEQ risks for the site, and make recommendations for mitigating and implement actions as approved to manage risks appropriately.
    Staff Management
    Guide, lead, and direct subordinate staff so that they are able to achieve the objectives set for them as well as understand and align with the strategic direction and goals of the parent company.
    Business Functional Management
    Execute project responsibilities in line with organisational strategy in order to achieve set goals. Report to Project Manager on operational and project performance.
    Executing project responsibilities to support sustainability of the broader business as per operational project requirements.
    Financial, Commercial & Contracts Management
    Provide inputs to estimating department on tender response structuring site visits may be involved with finalisation on an ad hoc basis.
    Implement financial, commercial and contracts management processes and procedures as set by the organisation and give inputs to contracts structuring.
    Risk Management & Compliance Incl. EGS Responsibility
    Ensure the company's policy on social responsibility is adhered to. Be fully aware of the content and impact of new contracts i.e. General Conditions of Contract, Special Conditions, Specifications, Drawings and be aware of relevant legislation relating to the contract - as related to site operational execution and governance.
    Align internal and external stakeholders to contract conditions and requirements, and the impact thereof for their area of responsibility.
    Stakeholder Management (Internal/External)
    Promote ongoing open communication with Client Resident Engineer and Project Manager and other client managers to foster good relations between FAC and the Client through appropriate forums and interfaces.
    Interface with community liaison roles as required, internally and externally and comply with the community liaison plan.
    Salary: R700K – R900K total package per annum depending on experience.
