  • The Strategic Project Co-Ordinator is responsible for the end to end management of the a Mining House Project. Maintaining a long term relationship and actively managing these relationships to reduce churn, increase existing revenue and influence new sales opportunities within them are crucial. The Strategic Project Co-Ordinator position although specifically created for the Mining House Account may or may not require responsibility adjustments at some point during the Strategic Project Co-Ordinators employment.

    The staff member reports to the Manager of the Projects Department and is responsible for performing Project Management and CSM related functions within the Projects Department at this moment specifically dedicated to the Mine account.

    Daily management of Mining House Account/s

    Scheduled visits to Mine Sites, which may at times include extensive and/or overnight travel

    Presentation of Projects Reviews and Quarterly ADAS Program Performance Reviews

    Project Management of the deployment process for Mine

    Continuous review of Project Goals, Milestones and Deliverables

    Overall responsibility of the Mining House Projects for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project milestone

    Continuous Risk and Gap Analysis

    Adherence to the Company Project Process as a guideline to achieve deliverables within Project phases ensuring feasibility

    Create Project Plans that ensure that the Mining House project is delivered on-time and within

    Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of Mining House Project expectations -

    Break project tasks into doable actions and set timeframes

    Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management

    Manage all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement)

    Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

    Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and

    Act as the point of contact for Anglo American and communicate project status to all internal Company stakeholders scope

    Ensure resource availability and allocation of internal and external resources

    Timeous and effective communication of Mining House expectations

    Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders -

    Manage changes to the project scope as and when needed

    Measure project performance using appropriate techniques

    Report and escalate risks to management as needed

    Manage relationships with the Mine and all stakeholders

    Perform risk management assessments to identify and minimize project risks

    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

    Meet with clients to clarify the specific requirements of each Mining House Site

    Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals

    Distribute Mining House project plans to all internal Company stakeholders

    Establish and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders

    Provide input on new processes and workflows as needed

    Focus on ensuring we maintain superior customer service levels, operational excellence and strategic insight

    Perform other related duties as assigned

    Minimum Grade 12 achieved. Project Management and/or Account Management qualification would be advantageous

    Preferably with a Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Mining

    Excellent MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge and typing skills

    Good experience in an Account Management/Project Management

    Strong customer focus and problem resolution skills

    Excellent ability engaging and communicating (verbal, written and presentation) within all levels of an organisation

    Ability to effectively present and relay product information to all levels of an organisation

    Excellent organisational skills for managing customer expectations and delivering product

    information in a concise manner

    Effective Time Management to ensure deliverable are achieved within expectations

    May be expected to work additional hours and overnight travel which may be required to meet objectives. This may include the occasional evening or weekends, to the extent applicable subject to the provisions of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997.

    The position involves the management of a risk environment and the information that will be worked with is critical and confidential; all information received and distributed must be considered accurate at all times; the persons work rate must be high.

    Willingness to do extensive travel which may include overnight stays

    Demonstrate solid character, integrity and share Company business ethics

    Flexibility and co-operation in work schedule is necessary to meet deadlines

    Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, is required
