  • Logistics / Supply Chain Manager – Cape Town

    Leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturer seeks suitably qualified / experienced Logistics/Supply Chain Manager to join their dynamic team.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Honour’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or related qualification
    • Advanced IT skills with regard to statistical software packages.
    • Min. 5 years related exp. in similar role, preferably gained in pharmaceutical ind.
    • Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Effective negotiation skills
    • Pro-active and forward thinking
    • Effective problem solving skills

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Overall management of the procurement function to ensure maximum effectiveness with least cost.
    • Evaluate performance of local and overseas suppliers and implement corrective action or improvements where needed.
    • Support Procurement Coordinator with maintenance of PO’s.
    Import Management
    • Overall management of the import function to ensure maximum effectiveness in all areas of Import Management for company, locally and internationally
    Distribution Management
    • Support management of relationship between Company and third party distributors.
    Process Improvements
    • Manage and implement new supply chain strategies.
    • Improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures.
    • Ensure optimal distribution through maximizing container space across products.
    • Ensure effective waste management by ensuring close management of stock pickups.
    • Evaluate and implement IT processes and systems aimed at increasing procurement, import and distribution efficiencies as well as effective management reporting.
    • Analyze business processes and seek to improve where possible.
    Documentation and reporting
    • Support maintenance of supply chain related documentation and reporting.
    • Manage any projects as delegated by own manager or Business Development Director.
    Staff management
    • Manage the workflow and work outputs of four staff (Logistics Coordinators, Procurement Coordinator and Supply Chain Intern).
    • Ensure effective staff training and development.
    • Ensure effective performance management.
