The Department:
The UX Department is a team of well-informed User Experience Specialists and Designers who are passionate about the perfect user experience. This team uses the product to create meaningful and relevant user experiences, to meet the strategic objectives of the business ensuring an intuitive user experience across all product verticals.
The department is responsible for the entire process of new products and features, from interpreting business strategy, planning, exploring, and designing to briefing the requirements into the technical teams.
Purpose of the Role:
The UX Designer should be effective and resourceful when combining data, psychology and technology. Work closely with the UX specialists on the product’s lifecycle, business requirements, user data, user flows/journeys, visual and interactive design elements to create an excellent user experience for internal and external users. Able to use technology to find innovative ways to improve user experience and own efficiency. You must be hands on, responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within a fast paced, open and collaborative peer environment.
Duties include, but not limited to:
• Research and documentation before any design is done.
• Conceptualizing new designs and user interactions that are both functional and user-friendly.
• Assist with user testing.
• Create user journeys and user flows.
• Creation of style guides, handover documents and patterns.
• Website design, System or Application design (Desktop, tablet, mobile) (Responsive) (iOS, Android, etc.)
• Find innovative ways and opportunities to improve UX through design and/or with the use of technology.
• Applying user-experience and interaction design knowledge, insight and skills to interfaces.
• Designing content from scratch.
• Working within client briefs and with supplied assets.
• Understand and/or driven to learn more about code languages using web standards.
• User experience evangelist.
• Comfortable with doing general design work from time to time, not necessarily related to their specific team.
Essential Criteria:
• 3-5 Years’ experience as a Senior Graphic Designer
• Relevant qualification in UXD / Web / Graphic Design
• Experience in user-experience and interaction design
• Portfolio demonstrating (case studies):
o Any area of graphic, website and mobile design,
o Strong eye for typography, colour, composition, balance and hierarchy.
o Identify and apply current trends and best practices for the web and mobile world and understanding of technology used in designing interactively.
o Creation of user journeys, wireframes and prototypes.
• High proficiency in industry relevant design software, suites and applications as per team standards.
• Ability to problem solve for better information architecture.
