DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

Warehouse Management

The organisation of the receipt and despatch areas and associated processes Pick face positioning to allow for easy visual identification of products and reduced picking errors Despatch staging and quick loading of vehicles Increasing pick accuracy

Inventory Deployment

Be responsible for deploying the inventory optimally across the warehouses. A separate team focuses on ensuring the right quantity of stock in-country.

Distribution

Optimising the fleet for last-mile delivery. Increasing on-time delivery and reducing failed deliveries. An understanding of routing and scheduling is required Fleet management and cost improvement

Longhaul Transport

Sub-contractors are used for longhaul transport. This can be a box or pallet to be despatched for emergency replenishment; or up to an interlink for a full inter-branch transfer. Managing a pool of service providers and optimising based on the load across these service providers always requires close attention.

People and Capacity Management

Strong people skills to ensure team cohesion and maximum output Discipline and performance management Managing the use of sub-contractors optimally for peaks and troughs of capacity requirements.

Metrics

The ability to put in place the required metrics to measure the current level of operational success against realistic targets

Other

Previous experience with deploying and extracting maximum benefit from a WMS will be advantageous

Health and Safety

Experience in deploying and managing a culture of safety, with the associated process and conformance Facility Management Ensuring that the facility and sites are maintained and always fit for purpose, inside and out.
